Welcome to Fatima Class -  Years 1 and 2.

Our bespoke Evolve Curriculum is rooted in our school PRAISE values.

We are POSITIVE readers and writers, supported by our daily phonics lessons and games. We are RESILIENT mathematicians, using resources to prove our answers and knowing that it’s okay to be wrong sometimes - we know we learn from our marvellous mistakes. We are ADAPTABLE and enjoy all areas of the curriculum where you will see us learning by exploring subjects with the guidance of our teachers and INDEPENDENT with an exciting hands-on practical approach. We practise using SELF-CONTROL techniques to regulate our emotions and know the importance of using our words to explain how we are feeling.

We understand EMPATHY in our class community as we have children from all over the world here that we learn from everyday from different cultures to different languages! 

We may still be little, but we are already making a big difference to the world we live in. This year we have survived being stranded in the Arctic, been Eco Warriors and designed our own garden while persuading local businesses to gift us plants and wood so that we can build it AND held the Carterton town Mayor to account for the littering problem (while also giving her some of our ideas of how to solve it!).

We LOVE to get out of the classroom and enjoy termly trips to the library, as well as the RAF airbase, the church and regular sports events like Cricket and Football at Carterton Community College. We have also had special trips to the town hall, the Living Rainforest, The Story Museum and The Science Oxford Centre to name just a few!
